Documents to bring and send

What should I bring to my enrollment appointment?

Bring your original passport and payment for the full course fee. We photocopy your passport and entry stamps for you. For passport photos, you can bring 12 photos measuring 4.0 cm by 6.0 cm with a white background, or the school can take and print 12 photos on site for 120 THB. For an overseas application, also send the requested digital photo and check the selected embassy's current photo requirements.

Does the school provide all the documents required for my visa application?

The school provides the Ministry of Education and school-side documents required to support your application. You are responsible for submitting your own visa application at the embassy (if abroad) or at Immigration Division 1 (if in Thailand).

Do my documents need to be translated?

Yes. All documents must be in English. If a document is in another language, please provide a certified English translation, for example from a translation agency or a notary. For a criminal background check, ask the office that issues it for an English version.

How many passport photos do I need, and physical or digital?

If you enroll at the school in person, the school needs 12 physical passport photos. You can bring 12 photos measuring 4.0 cm by 6.0 cm with a white background, or the school can take and print them on site for 120 THB. If you enroll remotely, digital photos are fine and there is no photo fee. The online e-Visa uses a digital photo taken within the last 6 months. Some embassies also ask for printed photos, so check the selected embassy's current instructions before you travel.

Do I need to sign my passport copies?

Yes, for the embassy-abroad application route, you sign every page of your passport copy before emailing it to the school.

Where does my physical passport need to be, and when do I get it back?

You keep your original passport at all times. The school does not retain it. We photocopy the required pages and prepare the paperwork. You take your passport to immigration yourself and show the school the completed visa page afterward.

Proof of funds

I'm an Iranian citizen. What financial documents do I need?

The school does not require bank statements or a minimum bank balance for enrollment. When an embassy asks for proof of funds, only bank statements are accepted, usually for the last 3 months and showing at least 20,000 THB. A Thai embassy or consulate may request financial documents under its current procedure, and requirements can vary by nationality. Please see the ED Visa country requirements article and confirm the current requirements with the responsible embassy or consulate.

Can cash or a debit card be used as proof of funds?

No. When proof of funds is needed, it must be a bank statement. Cash and debit cards are not accepted as proof of funds.

How much proof of funds do we need as a couple?

Thailand's rule for a Non-Immigrant Visa is at least 20,000 THB per person or 40,000 THB per family, so a couple needs 40,000 THB. Children under 12 are not counted. If you apply at a Thai embassy, check its current rules with the embassy before you apply. See the official notice at https://www.tatnews.org/2026/07/thailand-entry-reminder-on-proof-of-funds-for-foreign-visitors/

What financial documents does the Thai embassy ask for?

If you apply at a Thai embassy abroad, you usually need bank statements for the last 3 months showing at least 20,000 THB and enough money for your tuition and living costs. Only bank statements are accepted. Each embassy sets its own rules, so please check with the embassy before you apply. If you apply in Thailand, no bank statement is needed.

Can I apply at a particular Thai embassy, and how can I check?

Calling the embassy is an optional step if you want a very high success rate. Before you pay, call the Thai embassy or consulate where you want to apply. Ask if it accepts ED Visa applications from your nationality, and ask which documents it requires. The embassy that handles your application sets its own requirements, and it still makes the final decision when you apply.

Is there a minimum amount I need in my bank account?

The school does not require a minimum balance. When applying at a Thai embassy abroad, embassies commonly ask for bank statements showing at least 20,000 THB and enough money for your tuition and living costs. Please check the current amount with your embassy.
