Review the ED Visa refund policy, withdrawal procedure and school documents available for other applications.
Refunds and withdrawal
What is the refund policy if my Ministry of Education application is rejected, or if my embassy visa application is rejected?
If the Ministry of Education rejects the application after we submit it, you receive a full refund less 10,000 THB for registration, administration and processing. Once the Ministry of Education has approved the application, there is no refund if a Thai embassy or consulate rejects the visa.
How long does a refund take?
A refund normally takes about 1 to 2 weeks to arrive.
If my visa is rejected after I've already arrived in Thailand and applied in-country, is any refund available?
The same 2-stage refund policy applies to an in-country application. If the Ministry of Education rejects it, you receive the package fee back less 10,000 THB. After Ministry approval, there is no refund if immigration rejects the visa or permission to stay.
How do I withdraw, and does the school cancel my visa for me?
Tell the school before you withdraw or stop attending. The school will cancel your ED Visa. Course fees are not refunded when a student chooses to withdraw.
Other school services and policies
Can the school provide a residence certificate for a bank account or driver's license?
The school does not issue a Thai Certificate of Residence. We can provide a Certificate of Study or another school document that a bank or other authority may request. The relevant Thai Immigration office or embassy decides whether it can issue a residence certificate and which documents are required. Please contact the responsible authority directly for its current requirements.
Which banks accept the school's documents?
We can provide a Certificate of Study for opening a bank account. Each bank decides its own requirements, so please check with the bank directly. We cannot guarantee that a bank will accept it.
Refund policy details
Why can an application be refused after Ministry of Education approval?
Ministry approval confirms permission to study but does not guarantee permission to enter or remain in Thailand. The embassy, consulate or immigration office may consider jurisdiction, criminal and immigration history, previous entries and visas, current diplomatic conditions and additional document or interview requirements.
Detailed guidance
Stage 1: Ministry of Education review
If the Ministry of Education rejects the application after we submit it, the school refunds the package fee less 10,000 THB for registration, administration and processing.
Stage 2: Embassy, consulate or immigration application
After the Ministry of Education approves the application, the next decision belongs to the Thai embassy, consulate or immigration office handling the visa or permission-to-stay application.
There is no refund if the embassy, consulate or immigration office rejects the application after Ministry approval.
Why approval can still be refused
Ministry of Education approval confirms permission to study. It does not guarantee permission to enter or remain in Thailand.
The responsible authority may consider:
- The embassy or consulate selected and whether it has jurisdiction over the applicant.
- The applicant's criminal, immigration, overstay, blacklist, border-entry and previous visa history.
- Repeated tourist entries or tourist visa applications.
- Current diplomatic, regulatory or security conditions affecting the applicant's nationality or application location.
- Any additional documents or interview requested by the authority.
Students should follow the school's application-location guidance, review the responsible embassy's current requirements and provide complete, accurate information before applying.
Voluntary withdrawal
Course fees are not refunded when a student chooses to withdraw after enrolling. The student must notify the school so the school can cancel the ED Visa correctly.
